The Center for Metropolitan Studies (CEM), based at the University of São Paulo (USP) and the Brazilian Center of Analysis and Planning (CEBRAP), is actively seeking candidates who wish to make advanced research on themes related to our research agenda. We are a Research, Innovation and Diffusion (RIDC) with support from FAPESP. It is an institution for advanced research in social science that investigates social inequalities and the formulation of public policies. It consists of a multidisciplinary group, which includes, political scientists, sociologists, anthropologists, engineers, economists, geographers and demographers, whose research agenda is focused on citizens’ access to well-being.
What is funded
The selected candidates will receive a monthly fellowship in the amount of R$ 7.373,10 and a grant, equivalent to 15% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent in items directly related to the research activity.
The opportunity is open to Brazilian and foreign candidates. It is desirable to have a PhD in Social Sciences or related fields with a strong history of publishing and good performance in spoken and written English. It is required for the for the fellow to live in São Paulo and work at CEM headquarter, obviously subject to possible restrictions due to the present social isolation conditions during the Covid 19 pandemic.
