<strong>The position</strong><br />With this post doc position, QGG wants to strengthen the breeding and population genetics group in QGG. The position will specifically focus on optimization of breeding schemes with the aim of ensuring high agricultural production efficiency, whilst reducing climate and environmental impact. This will include optimization of using new phenotypesnd, new reproductive and genomic technologies within the aim of achieving resilient and efficient animals for livestock production. On top of the research duties, the candidate is expected to collaborate with industry partners and to be involved in teaching and supervision of Master, PhD students.<br /><br />The position is available from January 1st 2021 or as soon as possible thereafter.<br /><br /><strong>Qualification requirements</strong><br />The successful applicant can demonstrate a written scientific production at a national and international level, and documentation of skills within the research area stated above.<br /><br />In addition, the applicant is expected to have the following qualifications;<ul><li>A Ph.D. degree in animal breeding, quantitative genetics, statistics, or similar</li><li>Demonstrated research in the field of the position</li><li>Documented excellent skills in oral and written communication in English,</li><li>Documented experience on collaboration with non-university partners,</li></ul><br /><strong>Center for Quantitative Genetics and Genomics (QGG)</strong><br />The institute like center QGG, is a major center for research and education in quantitative genetics and quantitative genomics (<a href="http://www.qgg.au.dk/en" target="_blank">www.qgg.au.dk/en</a>) at Aarhus university. We perform basic and applied research within livestock and plant breeding as well as human applications within precision medicine. The research within QGG is characterized by a very close synergy between method development, basic analyses and application of the developed methods on practical problems across species in collaboration with industry partners. QGG is an international research Center with about 70 employees and visiting researchers from over 15 nations. QGG works in teams and strive for an excellent working environment. We therefore value self- leadership, open communication, respect for diversity and success in mentoring, supervision and teaching. The current location of QGG is in Foulum and Flakkebjerg. However, the main location of QGG will be the main campus in Aarhus centre.
