OFFER DESCRIPTION
Context
The engineer will work in the context of the EuroHPC MICROCARD European project which will develop a simulation platform able to exploit future exascale computers and to simulate cardiac electrophysiology on models with micrometer resolution.
The detailed meshes of cardiac tissue that this project requires will have unprecedented size, ultimately in the order of 10^12 elements. To create such meshes, powerful parallel mesh generation software must be developed.
Missions
The engineer will be in charge of the development of the open source toolchain for the generation of 3D tetrahedral meshes for the project test cases. Starting from segmented data (voxels labeled as vessels, myocyte, fibroblast…) provided by project partners, this person will develop robust tools for:

Skills/Qualifications
Desired profile
Master degree level, a first experience in software development as well as some knowledge in mesh generation and adaptation techniques would be appreciated.
Competences
- Scientific computing: basic knowledge in computational mechanics and/or computational geometry.
- Programming: knowledge of the C language and MPI standard is required, basic knowledge of Python will be appreciated.
- Classical programming tools: Git, CMake/CTest, Jenkin, gdb…
- Linux environment.
- Other: fluency in English, ability to draft reports and to work independently.
