Offer Description
Funded by an ERC Consolidator Grant, MitO2Health project focuses on depression as an immunometabolic disorder and investigates the role of lifestyle (diet, physical activity), traumatic stress and cellular energy production in the course of psychotherapy. For the MitO2Health project, we are looking for a part-time research assistant (65%, TV-L 13) to be included in the project coordination team. The research assistant position is initially for 1 year. The position can be prolonged 3 more years for a doctorate.
Your tasks:
- Daily coordination of data collection in the ongoing therapy study (patients, healthy control subjects)
- Supervision of student assistants and bachelor/master students, as part of study coordination
- Familiarization with the project in order to identify a suitable topic for a doctorate
- Writing scientific publications in the field of lifestyle (nutrition, inflammatory processes, physical activity) and depression
Your qualifications and skills:
- Master's degree in psychology, psychotherapy, health sciences, nutritional sciences, biology, biochemistry, neurosciences, molecular medicine or a comparable course of study
- Strong interest in the study of the biological correlates of mental illness and optimizing the success of psychotherapy for depression
- Strong communication skills and a high level of organizational skills
- Experience in contact with depressive patients desirable, but not essential
- Knowledge of German at native speaker level, very good knowledge of English
