Offer Description
After specific training, through seminars, on the issues and approaches specific to the project, the post-doctoral researcher in charge of the data from western provinces (Africa, Spain, Gaul, Britain, Germany) will be responsible of the following tasks, under the supervision of the PI and in regular interaction with the team, notably with the post-doctoral researcher in charge of the documentary system:
- Collecting relevant epigraphic sources stemming from the published corpora of the provinces corresponding essentially to northern Africa and western Europe;
- Preparing and entering the sources into the database, when the database is made available to the team;
- Reporting on the advancement of the assigned tasks and attending the internal seminars and meetings of the team;
- Contextualizing and analyzing the links between public roles and private opportunities within the institutional, social and political framework of civic societies in the Roman world;
- Disseminating the results of the research in seminars, conferences; articles; writing of a regional-based chapter in the final monograph (mandatory); participating in conferences planned as part of the PECUNIA project.
For data collection, the post-doctoral researcher will be able to benefit from documentary research missions in various research centres. In addition, for their work in relation to the database, they will benefit from specific training as needed.

Applicants are required to have:
- A Ph.D. in Classics or Ancient history (Roman world) obtained in or after 2022.
- Advanced skills in Latin epigraphy are mandatory.
- Research interests in the civic world and/or Roman administration; social, economic, institutional history.
- Ability to work in an international team and to be fully committed to the research conducted in the project; a knowledge of written and spoken French is essential.
