Offer Description
The main responsibilities of the person employed in this position will include:
- Participating in scientific research in the field of chemical sciences, with particular emphasis on analytical chemistry, ecoanalysis, and food analysis, under the supervision of experienced researchers.
- Preparing samples and performing analyses of food, feed, water, soil, sediments, and other environmental matrices using instrumental analytical techniques, in particular chromatographic, spectroscopic, and mass spectrometry-based techniques.
- Participating in the development, optimization, and validation of analytical procedures and in the quality control of analytical determinations.
- Participating in national and international research projects addressing, among other things, the identification and determination of environmental contaminants, bioactive substances, metabolites, and other components in environmental and food samples.
- Maintaining laboratory records, processing and carrying out preliminary interpretation of research results, and cooperating with members of the research team.
- Ensuring the proper use of laboratory equipment and compliance with research procedures and occupational health and safety rules.
- Supporting educational and training activities, as required by the needs of the organizational unit, including delivering lectures, seminars, training courses, and workshops in analytical chemistry, ecoanalysis, food analysis, and instrumental analytical techniques.
- Contributing to the preparation of scientific publications and presenting research results at scientific conferences and seminars.

Minimum requirements:
- Education: Master’s degree (magister/magister inżynier) in the field of exact and natural sciences, in the discipline of chemical sciences or a related discipline;
- Experience: laboratory experience, gained, for example, during work on a master’s thesis, practical placements, internships, or employment;
- Practical skills: knowledge of sample preparation principles and the fundamentals of instrumental analytical techniques, such as HPLC, GC-MS, LC-MS/MS, ICP-MS, UV-Vis spectroscopy or FTIR, and practical experience in using at least one of these techniques;
- ability to work in a team, diligence in maintaining laboratory records, and willingness to develop research skills;
- Primary place of employment: a declaration that, if appointed, International Institute of Chemical Sciences and Analytics of the Polish Academy of Sciences will be the candidate’s primary place of employment.
