OFFER DESCRIPTION

The Rector of the Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Sciences announces an open competition for the position of assistant professor in the group of research and teaching staff at the Department of Experimental Biology. The candidate is planned to be employed at the Department from December 2020 until December 2021.

The competition may be entered by persons who meet the conditions specified in Art. 113 of the Act of July 20, 2018, Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws 2018, item 1668, as amended) and in § 62 of the Statute of the University of Life Sciences in Wrocław.

Skills/Qualifications

Candidates joining the competition for the position of assistant professor should meet the following conditions:

-hold a doctoral degree in biological sciences in the discipline of biology or related;

-demonstrate commitment and availability in research and scientific work;

-have teaching experience, especially in the field of biomedical research, molecular diagnostics and oncology;

-have experience in research work in the field of molecular biology and cell culture;

-knowledge of laboratory techniques - mainly PCR, RT-qPCR, Western blot, flow cytometry

experience in microscopic imaging techniques of cell structures (confocal microscopy);

-ability to conduct cell cultures under aseptic conditions - minimum 2 years;

-experience in managing research tasks in research projects (minimum one);

-the ability to plan experiments, analyze and compile data, statistical analysis of results, computer analysis of results using ImageJ programs;

-the ability to isolate and characterize microbubbles and exosomes, including the assessment of morphology, immunophenotype, particle size analysis;

-the ability to analyze and current reporting of the obtained results;

-experience in developing new research protocols and keeping laboratory documentation;

-demonstrate scientific achievements documented by articles published in journals distinguished in Journal Citation Reports;

-have an active command of the English language (minimum B2 level);

-have a certificate of completing a semester research internship at a foreign research center.

Specific Requirements

Candidates entering the competition should submit:

-curriculum vitae;

-list of publications (including scores for scientific publications), together with photocopies of the first pages of the publication;

-scientific self-report;

-a copy of the diploma of obtaining a doctoral degree;

-a document confirming completion of a foreign research internship or a declaration to complete it within two years;

-a document confirming the knowledge of the English language.

The deadline for submitting the documents is November 19, 2020.

The competition will be adjudicated no later than November 24, 2020. Employment from December 2020.
